Call for Papers
SEI receives proposals for papers in the following formats: full paper, short paper and poster, which will be reviewed in blind review. Papers have the opportunity to be published in the Symposium Proceeding (in digital format).
The first authors of papers can be students from different levels of higher education – BSc, MSc, PhD or others.
Review process:
- Paper submission must scrupulously respect deadlines and be in accordance with the template;
- All Papers will be blind reviewed by at least two elements of the Technical-Scientific Committee;
- Corresponding authors will be notified about the reviewing process and the acceptance or rejection of the submitted paper. In case of acceptance, the authors must submit the final version by the deadline defined, taking into account the recommendations for improvement;
- In case the reviewers' suggestions are not considered in the final version of the paper, the Technical-Scientific committee reserves the right to exclude the paper from the symposium proceedings.
General information for submitting papers for review:
- Papers must follow the template available at LNCS.
- Papers can be written in Portuguese or English.
- Papers must be submitted in ".pdf" format.
- Information that allows the identification of authors should not be included. Thus, authors' names, affiliations and bibliographic references should not appear in the initial version, and this information should only be included in the final version of the paper.
- All proposals must be submitted through the EasyChair platform.
Specific information for paper submission:
Full Papers
Full papers must be original. Submissions must be limited to a minimum number of 6 pages and a maximum number of 8 A4 pages.
Short Papers
Short papers should describe work in progress but with relevant preliminary results to be discussed. Submissions must be limited to a minimum number of 4 pages and a maximum number of 5 A4 pages.
Posters
Posters should describe work in progress, preferably including some preliminary results. Submissions must be limited to a maximum number of 2 A4 pages.
How can I submit an paper to SEI’21?
- First, you must download the paper template (LNCS). All papers must follow the format of this template and be submitted in a word or LaTeX file.
- All papers must be submitted through the “EasyChair” platform. If you don't have an account on the EasyChair submission platform, you will have to create one and then login.
- After logging into your account, you must select the “New Submission” option and fill the form.
- Finally, you must upload your paper and submit. Afterwards, you will receive an e-mail with confirmation that your paper was successfully submitted.
General information for final paper submission:
- Papers must follow the template available at LNCS.
- Papers can be written in Portuguese or English.
- The final version of the papers must be submitted in a “.zip” file, which must contain: the final version in “.pdf” format, the source file in Word or LaTeX format and all additional files for later creation of the final version.
- The final version must be submitted through the EasyChair platform.
Recommendations for poster design:
- It must be self-contained and self-explanatory, allowing the reader to autonomously understand the general lines of what is shown, while allowing the author to clarify specific points of his work.
- It should be simple and clear, with a combination of text, graphics and images being recommended. Don't overload the poster with too much text. It is important to encourage reader appreciation/reading.
- It must allow the reading of images and graphics from a distance.
- It must have a highlighted area for the title, introduction, conclusions and authors.
- It must be vertically oriented and the recommended size is A1.
- There will be a place to stick the poster during the sessions.
Outline about the Presentations:
- Each author of the full paper will have a maximum of 15 minutes to present the work during the presentation sessions, followed by approximately 5 minutes of discussion.
- Each author of the short paper will have a maximum of 10 minutes to present the work during the presentation sessions, followed by approximately 5 minutes of discussion.
